My Summer

Part One :
So, me and a few of the lovely ladies in our ward just tied the thirtieth quilt for the summer! Yahoo! It was a big project, but we rose to the task and had a lot of fun along the way. We did not tie them all at my house and many, many people were needed to complete the 30 quilts. What a great service project.

Part Two:
What have I done this summer..... it goes by so quickly. Me, my sisters, and my mom had our first girl's day out since.....well....ever! It was a lot of fun, but definelty too short. We spent last Saturday walking around Thanksgiving Pointe and doing a lot of shopping. We shopped all along the way back to my sisters house in Clearfield. We stopped at the South Towne Mall and an interesting thing happened. We were just getting ready to leave when my mom bent down and picked up a $50 bill off the ground. There was nobody around us and she couldn't believe someone would drop it. So, we were joking about looking down while we walked and I casually said it looked like there was money on the floor in the middle of an open area. Some kids walked over the piece of paper on the floor and one of the girls even stepped on it. My mom walked over and ....you won't even believe it....it was a $10 bill. Well, turns out we didn't end up buying anything at the mall and my mom walked out with $60 bucks. Crazy! Our joke now is that we should all go regularly walk the South Towne Mall. It was in the evening and late night hours that the fun really began and EVERYTHING became funny. All in all after tears at IKEA, money at the mall, and nearly wet pants at Kmart we had a fabulous time. Next year, maybe we will take the whole weekend!

You did awesome on the quilt project during the summer. There is NO WAY our ward would have completed the 30 quilts without you...not even close. You definitely made it happen. It seems whatever goal or commitment you have, you put 100% into it. The entire ward has learned quickly that you are so reliable and hard working. I love that you always have a great attitude about everything you do. Thanks for your example.

Outings with mom and sisters are THE BEST! We do a lot of laughing when we get together too. I am glad you had fun.

Also, I have my sewing machine now, so I need to get some quilts to bind so I can do my part! I haven't been pulling my weight with that project.

It was fun quilting with you while the kids "played" and there's nothing that compares to mom and sisters together. You should do that more often and take advantage of having sisters close by. Or relatively I guess compared to mine in California and Kentucky! It's sad to see summer leaving.
