The Amazing James

The other day while I was sitting there (feeding Johnny) I watched James open a can of beans, transfer them to a glass bowl, heat them in the microwave, get out a tortilla, heat it in the microwave, spread the beans, roll up a burrito, use an apple cutter to cut an apple, and put some carrots on his plate.......I thought.....what a responsible and wonderful child. After he was all done I thought he had done such a good job that I asked him to make me one. He happily did so after eating his first. Today while I was asking James to set the table and help me with a few things before dinner he turned to me and said, "Do you think I am the dad or something!" I had to laugh and tell him that all of these skills he is learning will make life easier later. I am always amazed at what he can do and so proud of him when he tries so hard. I don't thank James enough for all that he does. This morning I asked James to go running with me. My kids long for time alone with one of their parents. He rode his scooter by my side and I ran....what a great way to start the day.
