Mommy Moments

So, looking back on the day today I decided to break it up into moments.

Moment #1:

The day started out at the park. The park is great, but one of Rachael's favorite things to do is take off running for the bathroom (and we all know how we feel about park bathrooms..yuck!). I do get my work out!

Moment #2:

Then we stopped off at the Elton's (a sweet couple in the ward that my children have adopted as a third set of grandparents) and ended up playing and having lunch with them. I love good neighbors! They are such a blessing in my life.

Moment #3:

Thursday is generally my cleaning day and while Rachael naps, James and I mop the floors together and then he plays while I finish everything else. I am so glad that he is so anxious to help me and I know I should cherish those moments while they last.

Moment #4:

While James and Rachael were eating a little afternoon snack I just looked at them and thought, "My children are so adorable and I want to remember them just the way they are today." So I grabbed the camera (which I don't do often enough) and here is what I got.

Moment #5:

James invited the neighbor children over to play in our yard and the ten year old started burying his fools gold in the gravel so James and his little brother could dig for it. It was such a sweet little interaction that was taking place. And in the end he buried it so well that I could not even find it. It was a very nice piece of fools gold he got from his grandma, so it was sad to have it lost. We may be having more treasure hunts over the next week to find it.

Moment #6:

Evenings are always a little more stressful for me because of trying to get dinner made, then all the chaos that occurs after dinner, and finally getting children ready for bed and IN bed. It seemed at one point this evening everything I was doing...the children were undoing in a matter of seconds......ahhhhhh!

Moment #7:

I always go into my children's rooms after they have fallen asleep and look at them in their sweet innocence. One of my favorite moments of the entire day. And now here I am typing and thinking, "I am so blessed to be a mother and to have these special moments."

Yep, mommy moments are some good and some crazy. I'm so happy that your family came to Janae's reception. I loved watching Rachael run around the dessert table. I felt like, "Hurray! I'm not the only mom who chases her kids around." Super cute post.

I love moment #7. What a beautiful thought. It is such a blessing to see your children sleeping in peace at the end of the day, this is one of those little things that makes it all worthwhile.

Aren't those little moments wonderful? Even more so when you take time to appreciate them. Being a mom is absolutely, hands down, the greatest blessing.
