A few nights ago James and I hopped in the Explorer (note: this is our newer Explorer, not the one from the previous incident). We were headed to the store to pick out something he wanted to buy with his saved up money and we were racing the clock so I could be back before the baby had to eat again. It was dark and I am not used to having the car parked behind me in the driveway. I did not see the car....CRUNCH! I have no good excuses. One that Jake came up with was that I am a girl and we tend to have problems with our spacial awareness at times. Amazingly enough I hit the car in the same spot as the first time. Unfortunately this time the damage is much more noticeable and will need to be fixed professionally. One of those "I feel like an idiot" moments! At least I only run into my own cars :)
The poor car (Jake says it is scared of me):
The explorer suffered less, but still noticeable. Sorry it is so dark.

Yikes. If it makes you feel better, I hit our new SUV on the house a few weeks ago. Christian didn't want to ask our neighbors to not park their truck 6 inches into our drive way and with 2 cars in the garage it was tight getting out anyway. So in one of my creative maneuvers to get out of the garage to try to take Cameron to school in the morning, I misjudged how the car is several inches out more above the tires than the hood where I could see. We have a few dents that I reminded Christian wouldn't have happened if he had just talked to them. :) But I agree with Jake. I can't judge the same as Christian. He speedily backs out the SUV down the driveway in 5 seconds scaring me he'll hit the truck whereas I creep out and it takes me 10 times as long. So big cars aren't good for me but I still love it.
