So we are going to Disneyland! We are way excited and I thought I would ask anyone that has been to lend some helpful tips on making it the best experience possible. So, if you have tips.....do share! We are leaving in about a week.
How fun! I'm sure everyone will love it! My biggest advice is to relax and have fun no matter how busy it is. The kids are going to love everything. I've found that Kenna loves to meet the characters...so if they have a favorite character it is worth the wait. Toon Town is great for little ones. Take advantage of the fast pass for rides the whole family can go on. For ones just for Mom & Dad, they almost always have a 'single rider' line...if the entrance to that isn't obvious just ask the cast member working the entry to the line. This way one of you can get on quickly while the other watches the little ones, then you can switch off. Tuesday and Wednesdays tend to have the least amount of people...but it is always busy ;) Oh, and if they have cast members taking photos at photo spots, do it, it is fun having them take pictures...they put them onto a card (take a picture of that card number with your camera just in case if the card gets lost). Even if you don't decide on buying the photos you can copy them off the internet and have nice little 'pro' photos for yourself. It would be awesome to get you all down here to Disney World someday. Hopefully airfare gets cheaper. ;) I hope you all have a wonderful time!
We took our 2 oldest when they were 5 & 3. It was a blast!! We got there before the rides opened and got to look through the stores that were open to see if there was anything we wanted to come back and buy later. We were there when they opened the gates to the rides and the rest of Disneyland. The streets were crowded with people and it was so fun to feel the anticipation and excitement in the air. The kids loved it. I was almost in tears just seeing the joy in their little faces. That is a moment that I will never forget. (silly!) Anyway, we then went straight to the kid land part and did all the rides they wanted to. There were almost no lines at all. Then we went to toon town and then we did the rest later. One really good thing we did was we brought our own sack lunches and snacks because food prices are ridiculous and put them in a locker you can rent for the day. We could also stash extra water bottles and snacks and little trinkets and stuff. We didn't need a stroller or a big bag to carry around our stuff all day. It was awesome! The lockers are a couple bucks and you can open them as many times as you want as long as you have the code. The lockers are on the main street. Just ask someone and they will tell you where they are. It had definitely been our favorite family vacation so far. Have so much fun!!!
I wish I had some advice. The last time I went to Disneyland was when I was 8yrs. old. I'm so excited for you guys your kids are going to LOVE IT! Have tons of fun and post all your pictures when you get back!
Oh, so much fun!I know you've probably already gone, but for next time . . . A lady told me that she took her daughter to have a princess makeover. She said it was expensive, but totally worth the money because he daughter acted like a princess (very polite and lovely to be with) the rest of the day. My sister lives in FL and they go to Disney World a lot. Their trick is to start at the far end of the attractions and then move toward the entrance. Everyone else does it the opposite way, they go to the first ride they see. This way you get to rides with shorter lines right at first. I hope you had fun!
